Gary Dreher, CPA

Tax Manager

Gary joined the firm in 2006 after several years in the corporate tax department of a Fortune 500 company; as well as, a national accounting firm serving small and mid-sized businesses and their owners. He has extensive experience and knowledge in both federal income tax and state and local tax matters.

A proactive service provider, Gary provides clients with a variety of tax services including tax planning and restructuring strategies, due diligence, merger and acquisition planning, multi-state nexus studies, and refund analyses. His industry experience includes manufacturing, service, tax exempt organizations and wholesale industries.

Gary identified opportunities with a privately-held manufacturing client to utilize a state sales tax exemption on electrical energy usage. The resulting refund for prior taxes paid and subsequent savings opportunity helped his client minimize costs in a competitive, mature industry.

Gary also worked with a client who was expanding operations outside the state. By being involved with the client and the general contractor during the planning, he was able to efficiently perform a cost segregation analysis. Coupled with a negotiated credits and incentives package from the state, the client was able to substantially reduce the cost of the expansion.

He has successfully represented clients in various industries in both audit defense and voluntary disclosure agreements; as well as, successfully drafted ruling requests to ensure his clients' transactions were treated appropriately by taxing authorities.
